Privacy

Who we are

Marketing Truths is a joint platform from the Marketing + Media Alliance (MMA) and the Marketing Science Institute (MSI). This notice covers this website and its research assistant. MMA’s organization-wide privacy policy, which governs MMA events, webinars, and mailing lists, is available at mmaglobal.com. MSI’s organization-wide privacy policy is available at msi.org.

What we collect

You can browse this site and use the research assistant without creating an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or payment details anywhere on the site.

When you ask the assistant a question, the text of your question is sent to our servers so we can answer it. We log questions and the answers we generated, along with technical quality data (response type, latency, model used), to monitor accuracy and improve the service. These logs are not tied to an account or profile. Please don’t include personal or confidential information in your questions.

If you rate an answer, we store that feedback together with the question and answer it refers to.

Your conversation history is stored only in your own browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device as a saved conversation, and clearing your browser data deletes it.

Cookies

The public site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookie in use is a short-lived session cookie for site administrators who sign in to manage content; regular visitors never receive it.

We measure traffic with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It identifies a visit using an anonymized hash computed from the incoming request, discarded within 24 hours, and it never sets a cookie on your device. The data it gives us is aggregated only: page URL, referrer, country or region, device type, and browser. It cannot track you across other sites or identify you as an individual.

If member sign-in launches later (for example, to sync conversation history across devices for MMA and MSI members), it will use a session cookie, and we will update this policy before that feature ships.

Service providers

We use a small set of infrastructure providers to run the service: Vercel hosts the site (standard server access logs include IP addresses), Supabase stores our research database and query logs, OpenAI processes assistant questions to generate answers, and Sentry receives error reports when something breaks. Each provider processes data only to provide its service to us. We do not sell or rent any visitor data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

How we use information

We use the information described above for exactly three things: answering the questions you ask, measuring and improving the accuracy of those answers, and keeping the service secure and reliable. If required by law, we may disclose information to governmental authorities.

Children’s privacy

This service is directed at marketing professionals and adults. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the UK and EU), you may have rights to access, correct, or erase personal information, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because the site collects so little, most requests are simple: chat history lives in your browser and is yours to delete, and if you believe a question you asked contains personal information you want removed from our logs, email us and we will remove it. Our processing rests on our legitimate interest in operating and improving a free research service.

This is a US-based service and data is processed in the United States.
