What this service is

Marketing Truths summarizes findings from published, peer-reviewed marketing research and answers questions grounded in that research. It is provided free of charge by the Marketing + Media Alliance (MMA) and the Marketing Science Institute (MSI). By using the site you accept these terms.

Research information, not advice

The summaries and assistant answers describe what published studies found, including their scope and limitations. They are general research information, not business, financial, or legal advice for your specific situation. Empirical generalizations are averages across many studies; your market, brand, and category can differ. Decisions you make based on this material are your own responsibility.

Assistant answers are generated with AI constrained to our research database. The assistant is designed to decline rather than guess when the research doesn’t cover a question, but no automated system is perfect: check the cited source before relying on a specific figure.

How the content is produced

Nothing on this site reproduces the underlying academic papers. Our research team reads each published study and writes an internal summary of its findings in our own words; what appears on this site is a further plain-language translation of that summary, with a citation to the original paper. We do not copy the papers’ text, tables, or figures, and we do not host or distribute the papers themselves.

The AI assistant is not trained on the academic papers and has no access to them. It answers only from the internally prepared research summaries described above, and it cannot retrieve, quote, or reproduce the original articles.

Intellectual property

The underlying academic papers belong to their authors and publishers; we cite them and link to the version of record. The site’s own content, design, and the Marketing Truths name belong to MMA and MSI. You may quote and share our summaries with attribution to the platform and the cited study.

Access

The site and the assistant are free to use and require no account. Convenience features for MMA and MSI members, such as conversation history synced across devices, may be added behind a sign-in later; these terms and the privacy policy will be updated before any such feature launches.

Acceptable use

Don’t abuse the service: no attempts to disrupt or overload it, probe its infrastructure, scrape it at bulk volume, or use the assistant for anything unlawful. We may limit or block access to protect the service.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MMA and MSI are not liable for damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its content.
